Walks In Nottinghamshire

Dogs are always welcome at The Delta by Marriott Nottingham Belfry Hotel, and we’ve taken some of the stress out of planning activities with a furry friend in tow. Here’s a few walks you can go on, by yourself or with man’s best friend…

SHERWOOD FOREST CIRCULAR

1 hour 30 minute drive

Follow in the footsteps of an outlaw.

This walk through Sherwood Forest will have you seeing the same sights as Robin Hood. This trail is popular for birdwatchers, mountain bikers and hikers but you’ll still be able to catch a quiet moment during less popular times.

Dogs are welcome but must be on leads.

CLUMBER PARK AND WATER CIRCULAR

1 hour 45 minute drive

Take a stroll by the water.

This walk takes you around a lake on what used to be the Duke of Newcastle’s countryside estate. You’ll be able to spot lots of different birds and insects, some quite rare. This trail gets very muddy after rain, so make sure you pack appropriate footwear.

Dogs are welcome but must be on leads.

FISKERTON CIRCULAR

1 hour 30 minute drive

Follow the Trent.

Most of this trial, which is popular with runners, takes you along the River Trent. There isn’t a lot of shade on the walk so make sure you wear appropriate clothing and drink plenty of water if you do the trail during the summer. You can treat yourself to a pint after your walk at the pub at the end of the trail.

Dogs are welcome and can be off-lead in some areas.

ATTENBOROUGH NATURE RESERVE

45 minute drive

Get up close and personal with the wildlife.

This trail, a simple tarmac path around the lakes, lets you get close to the wide variety of wildlife on the nature reserve. And you can enjoy a meal and a drink while listening to the sounds of nature at the café at the end of the trail.

Pets are welcome but must be on leads.
