Nottingham Castle

Originally built in 1068 after William I’s successful invasion of England, Nottingham Castle has a rich history, including three rebuilds. Now, you can explore the exhibits inside the castle itself as well as roam the grounds. Plus, there are often performances to catch at the open air theatre.

Nottingham Arboretum

Said to be the inspiration for Peter Pan’s Neverland, the 17-acre Arboretum is Nottingham’s green oasis. Boasting an eclectic mix of attractions, including tropical birds, looted war cannons, flower gardens and a pagoda, its charm has remained virtually unchanged for over a century.

Sherwood Forest Circular

Follow in the footsteps of an outlaw: this walk through Sherwood Forest will have you seeing the same sights as Robin Hood. The trail is popular for birdwatchers, mountain bikers and hikers but you’ll still be able to catch a quiet moment during less popular times. Dogs are welcome but must be on leads.

Wollaton Hall
